Welcome all to the twenty-seventh Rotanote for the Rotary 2019-20 year.  This week our speaker was Michael Silverman telling us a bit about his life and his insights into the success of Sir Richard Branson.  More in the bulletin.

Next week we have Dr Peter Freestone from the University Of Auckland.  Peter has established an independent line of research studying normal brain function and connectivity between brain cells.  The brain produces its own cannabis-like substances and these compounds - called endocannabinoids - are involved in many functions from regulating immune responses to modulating the flow of information between brain cells. They also show promise as a treatment for various neurological disorders such as multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's disease.  Peter’s topic – “Shining a Light on Parkinson’s”.
